A warm welcome to Recovery of Self Counseling and Intensives, the practice of Kate Parkinson. I am glad that you found my site.
My therapy approach is based on the belief that every human being is inherently precious and worthy of dignity, respect and compassion, no matter what they have done in the past or what problems they might have. As people, we have amazing capacity to overcome tremendous adversity. Yet, sometimes a trauma or ongoing challenge is so severe that we just get stuck and have difficulty moving past it.
My primary goal is to partner with you
to help you develop the awareness and skill necessary to empower you on your path of recovery. I am direct, compassionate and supportive as I encourage the changes necessary for a satisfying life. I place a high importance on building trust with my clients, and believe that therapy is a dynamic process founded on a safe, secure relationship that provides both unconditional support and accountability. In addition, I incorporate interventions that are outcome driven, evidence-based and task-centered for real and lasting change.
Whether your struggles involve compulsive behaviors, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, abandonment issues, illness, grief or chronic shame, I help you tap into your ability to heal and resolve the underlying issues in order to flourish. It is possible to develop an integrated whole Self with the capacity for true love and connection!
I hope to support you in some way, and invite you to give me a call today to schedule an appointment, or fill out the contact form below and click Send. I look forward to hearing from you.
Recovery of Self Counseling and Intensives serves adults, couples and families and offers extended sessions (two to four hours) as well as Intensives.
A Kind Word
"Since there are no amount of words which could adequately reflect my gratitude, let me just say "thank you". You are helping me to become the human I want to be...the person I was made to be." ~
